Verizon Wireless has announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II is now officially available for preorder on VerizonWireless.com. Dubbed a “phablet” due to its size, the Note II gives users the best of both worlds with its large, yet pocketable, 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and is powered by Samsung’s 1.6 GHz Exynos quad-core processor, with 2 GB of RAM. The device also features an 8-megapixel camera and 1.9-megapixel front facing-camera.
The Galaxy Note II has features that set it apart from other Android smartphones. The built-in S-Pen can be used for note taking or just browsing the device. With the S-Pen’s “AirView feature, users can hover over an e-mail or gallery item to preview content without opening it. Furthermore, “Easy Clip” lets users draw an outline and crop what’s on the screen, using the S-Pen, and share that cropped image. The Note II also allows users to run two apps simultaneously by dividing the screen in the Multi Window view. Users can stream YouTube videos while sending an email, taking notes or writing down an address while on a phone call.
The Note II will be available online and in stores in Marble White or Titanium Grey in the coming weeks (11/27 expected ship date) for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement, or $699.99 off contract.
