System76 Releases New 15.6″ Gazelle Professional Ubuntu Laptop

  • Computer manufacturer System76 just released an updated version of their Gazelle Professional Ubuntu laptop.  The Gazelle was taken off their website, but it’s back now, better than ever.

    15.6″ Gazelle Professional

    The 15.6″ Gazelle Professional starts out at $899 for the base configuration.  What’s awesome about the Gazelle is, despite having a 15.6 inch screen, it still features a FULL HD resolution display of 1920×1080.  That’s the same as my 23″ monitor.  Awesome if you ask me!  Even more awesomeness is the Gazelle is powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3610QM processor.  That’s Intel’s new ivy bridge processor.  The default base configuration of the Gazelle Professional also features Intel HD Graphics 4000, 4GB DDR3 ram clocked at 1600MHz, and a 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA II hard drive.

    Of course, the prices stated above are for the base configurations.  Price will go up if you choose to up the CPU, add more ram, splurge for a SSD, etc.  The laptop ships with Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit installed by default.

    Hi Joe,
    I understand clevo is the manufacture of system76 laptops.
    On another note It’s unfortunate they don’t offer any AMD component in their products. I refer above all  GPU and or APU from AMD.
