Precise Update Removes Giant Icons from Dash

  • About 2 weeks ago, I wrote that the Ubuntu developers were testing a new layout for the Unity dash that removes the gigantic icons.

That update is now available in the Unity PPA and could very easily become official for Ubuntu 12.04.

    After

Note: The new dash also shows “Recent Files” and “Downloads” but since the screenshot is from a new install, there’s nothing there.

How do you like the new dash? I still don’t understand why the dash doesn’t just show all the apps you have installed.
