Add A Little Ice Cream Sandwich Flare To Your Gnome Shell With These Themes

  • Deviantart user tmari0 has created a Gnome Shell and GTK3 theme inspired by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich’s default theme.  With the dark color accented with the familiar blue, Android users will feel right at home.

    Gnome Shell theme

His ICS Gnome can be downloaded here.

The theme can be installed with the Gnome Tweak Tool.

    GTK3 Theme

His ICS GTK3 theme can be downloaded here.

The downloaded theme needs to be placed in the /usr/share/themes/ folder.  Press Alt + F2 and run:

    gksudo nautilus

Navigate to File System > usr > share > themes

Extract your downloaded theme and place the extracted folder in the themes folder you navigated to.

    Open the Gnome Tweak Tool.

Under theme, choose the ICS theme from the GTK+ Theme dropdown box and the Window theme dropdown box.

Restart Gnome Shell my pressing ALt+F2 and running “r” (without quotes)

    ***BONUS***

You can download Android 4.0’s Roboto font from here and the ICS wallpaper from here.

    Thanks Ubuntu Corner!
