Unity Global Menu To Be Disableable in Ubuntu 12.04?

  • In the past, I did a tutorial on how to get rid of Unity’s global menu. It seems that with Ubuntu 12.04, there will be an easier way.

Mock-ups from Ubuntu Design Team members Christian Giordano & John Lea reveals possible changes to the system settings, which will allow Unity’s global menu to be disabled. Users will simply need to select the “Integrated with individual windows” option in the User Interface settings of the System Settings.

I hope these mockups turn out to be true. I am not a fan of the global menu. It makes using programs such as Gimp, on a 22″+ monitor a pain.
