Does Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin Have A New Icon Theme?

  • Mark Shuttleworth stated back in March of 2010, when Ubuntu’s new light themes were announced, that Ubuntu will be getting a new icon theme to go with the new themes.  A user on a Brazilian Ubuntu forum posted about a company, called YellowIcon, that could very well be the company designing the new Ubuntu icon theme.  Below are screenshots from YellowIcons portfolio showing the could be Ubuntu icon theme.  Click the images to check them out.

There is no way of knowing if YellowIcon really is designing Ubuntu’s new icon theme but I personally hope so.  The icons in the screenshots above look very nice. I’m digging the Nautilus theme too.  What do you think?

  • I think they’re pretty cool.  With that being said, with the third image, I don’t think it fits and what’s the popcorn and guitar for in the sixth image?

  • Jake Ward

popcorn = movie player, guitar = music player????

  • Oh, don’t do that. That seems corny.
